OUR awesome friend Travis sent this warning to D. He is such a wonderful friend to BOTH OF US. We laughed and laughed and laughed. It takes a few minutes to load, but it's a great one.
Para que sepan, I'm not a fan of diamond jewelry. Actually, one of my favorite gifts from D was a set of dumbbells. Just to make this fun, what is the least romantic gift you've received? My former boss told us he gave his wife a bathroom scale as part of the 12 days of Christmas--see if you can beat that!

Que raro... we have a co-worker from China here for two months, and we were discussing why all of us men in the office were wearing wedding rings. He thought it very interesting that most American women expect a diamond in their engagement rings. I answered his question with "well, it's because the diamond cartel has spent millions of dollars convincing them that they are not loved unless they have a slave-mined semi-precious stone on their ring."
Yesssss! I am going to dedicate a future post to my anti-diamond sentiments. Down with Debeers!! Stay tuned!

This was a very funny commercial, is that what it was?? I remember my dad gave my mom an iron one year for something or another and boy was she irked!!! Yikes!!! She was like, "Hey, thanks for the tool to iron more shirts for you!" NOT.
Just a note, I know I've been pretty difficult to joke with lately so just to make sure, my previous comment about rings was meant to be humorous. :)
I just watched the movie Blood Diamond last week. It was pretty horrible but very interesting and sad as I don't think it exaggerates the diamond trade much if at all. It is pretty sick.
Last year for Christmas I asked for a most romantic gift - a whole laundry list of honey-dos. I got the couch and carpet steam cleaned and curtains hung etc. Diamonds are lovely and all but I was pretty thrilled with my handyman at my beck and call.
The only one I can think of was a pair of work gloves with my name permanent markered into them... :) Not bad really... :)
