The past month has been a blur. I'm not sure why, I mean, it's almost like I just had a baby or something. D had some time off school, and that was very nice. We got some little projects done like taking down the Christmas tree and organizing the office (now it needs to be organized again). It was really nice to be able to tag team with the kids. We noticed that Squeak thinks of me as "Mama" and "Dada"--we're trying to teach her that there are two of us. Pip suddenly started sleeping longer at night (like 6-7 hours straight, which doesn't impress you unless you know that before, it was maybe 3 hours--no wonder I'm such a zombie!). D started sleeping in our room again (it was too hard to study and pass exams with Pip waking up several times a night). Pip has turned into a charming, giggling social creature. I love it!! He wasn't the easiest during the first few weeks, but he has really come around. I love his smiles and Squeak, of course, can't get enough of him. I am continuing on my journey back to normalcy. I'm happy to report that I am now able to manage two kids in cloth diapers (I had to gradually ease back into it and boy, is it a lot of laundry!!). I'm also caught up on budgeting and bills. I'm back to making my own yogurt and bread. I'm running several times a week. I should probably sign up for a race to really get myself motivated. 10K, anyone?

I was encouraged that it took you a while to get to the point you could handle both kids in cloth - I just started cloth again with Daphne. I tried in the beginning, but yeah, that was too much laundry for me at first. I'm wondering if you've heard of/dabbled in elimination communication? I'm seriously considering doing it with Daphne, and I think I'm going to start working on it here soon.
Can I also add, that I'm inspired by the fact that you run! If you can find time to run with a husband in medical school - well then gosh darnit I can find time to exercise! I have to make it a priority! (and I really do, too!)
And bread and yogurt!! I made one batch of bread since - I'm really curious about the yogurt though! That's awesome!
So, 10K, Cherise?? I've read up on elimination communication and decided that it's not for me. I think it might work if the baby were an only child because that way the parents could really focus on the baby's signs, but then again, you'd be so tied down (and from what I've read, it takes a few months!). My sister-in-law raves about a potty training method that takes one day, and I'm going to try it with Squeak soon. I have high hopes that my laundry duties will diminish greatly. :>)
If you want a yogurt-making tutorial, let me know--it's really easy.
Oh, and I should be more encouraging and say that if you want to try E.C., power to ya!
T,
That outfit looks adorable on Squeak! So cute. And I didn't RAVE about the potty training, I just said it worked for us. But then, lots of things work for us--like frozen pizza! Sounds like you are doing well.
Love,
Aunt Beasta
hey you! so I finally got a blog going for us. You'll have to check it out even though there's not much on it yet! I can't wait to start running again after I have this kid. A 10k would be awesome. Thanks for coming to the shower and for the cute outfit! Is squeak feeling better?
