I'm very adamant about not allowing Squeak to watch any TV or movies (for at least a few years). After reading this article, I'm glad, even though it would be so easy to stick her in front of a screen so I could get more done. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15499211/

WOW Tera you are more advanced than I. Your blog is very cute!! I am also very much opposed to allowing children to sit in front of the T.V. all day. I was given a baby video when Hunter was born and I tried it a couple of times, but he never liked it and I felt kind of weird plunking my infant in front of a t.v. when there are soooo many other ways to build their brains. I will confess I have fallen into the trap of allowing my kids to watch t.v. while I work. But since they are in school, they only watch t.v. on the weekends and since we don't do the sunday t.v. thing that makes it very limited. Often times they never even ask and even on Sat mornings they would rather do other stuff. MOst weekends we will do a friday movie night for fun, popcorn and homemade pizza and all.

It must be so rewarding to have kids who PREFER to self-entertain instead of having a screen entertain them. That's my quest, really. I want Squeak to develop her own creativity and be interested in the real world around her instead of a virtual world. I say this as I sit in front of a computer screen, ha ha ha.
